Department of Education – 2024 Nanga Mai Awards ‘Igniting Bright Futures – Celebrating Excellence in Aboriginal Education’

The 19th annual Nanga Mai Awards were held in Sydney on 25 November 2024, celebrating exceptional contributions to Aboriginal education across New South Wales.

Birrelee Multifunctional Aboriginal Children’s Service was honoured with the Outstanding Commitment to Increasing Knowledge and Understanding of Aboriginal Histories, Cultures, and Experiences of Aboriginal People Award.

This award recognises a school or community of schools that have shown a deep and ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of respect,inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices that acknowledge and support the diverse needs of Aboriginal students.
